We have opened three Postdoc positions in the Laboratory of Hybrid Nanophotonics and Optoelectronics in ITMO University (Saint Petersburg, Russia), which is a leading and rapidly developing University of Russia in the fields of photonics and optoelectronics.

We are looking for energetic young (< 35 years) and passionate scientists who can fit well to our dynamic and multi-disciplinary team. The candidates should have good team work and communication skills to be able to efficiently collaborate with the rest of the technical team. The final goal of the entire project is to develop working devices based on halide perovskite based nanostructures. The positions to the following directions:

  • Nanophotonics of halide perovskites

The project is related to fundamental study of optical properties of various nanostructures made of halide perovskites, including quantum dots, 2D flakes, nanowires as well as nanoantennas and metasurfaces. We will consider both experimentalists and theoreticians.

Requirements:

The candidates should have strong background in nanophotonics, being skilled in nonlinear optics, nano-/microlasers, optics of excitons, or sensing, which should be supported by a strong publication track record.

  • Advanced fabrication of halide perovskite nanostructures

The project is related to creation of novel nanostructures (quantum dots, 2D flakes, nanowires as well as nanoantennas and metasurfaces) made of various halide perovskite materials, including hybrid perovskites, inorganic perovskites, chiral perovskites, lead-free perovskites, and double perovskites.

Requirements:

The candidates should have strong background in material science, being skilled in chemistry, crystallography, or nanostructures fabrication, which should be supported by a strong publication track record.

  • Optoelectronic devices based on halide perovskites

The project is related to creation of highly efficient and multifunctional optotelectronic devices based on halide perovskites. Namely, we aim to develop semitransparent flexible light-emitting solar cells for applications in building-integrated photovoltaics as well as in various advanced applications. The project will be

Requirements:

The candidates should have strong background in experimental optoelectronics, being skilled in optoelectronics, material science, solid state physics, and engineering, which should be supported by a strong publication track record.

Benefits:

Apart from the high living standard in one of the most beautiful city of Europe (Saint Petersburg), the successful candidates will benefit from being a part of a very dynamic and efficient team of young researchers doing cutting edge nanophotonics and optoelectronic research and being at the front edge of bringing nanophotonic concepts to industry. They will be able to significantly broaden their vision and understanding of state of the art nanophotonics and optoelectronics. Also, due to the nature of our research they will also learn about the existing industry demands and understand the challenges of bringing new concepts to real industrial applications. The candidate should be ready for short term internships to the labs of our international partners in USA, Europe and Asia.

Conditions:

The position is proposed to be at least for 4+3 years with annual progress evaluation and possible further prolongation for exceptional candidates. Salary is strongly dependent on the qualification of candidate, and at least 2 times higher than an average level for Saint Petersburg, where living expenses 2-3 times smaller as compared with Western Europe and US.

Application:

We look forward to receiving your online application including a detailed curriculum vitae, a list of publications, a statement of research interests, containing a short description of your background, motivation and skills, and the names of three contacts for references. Consideration of applications will begin immediately and will continue until we have filled the positions.
